AN EXPERIENCE THAT MADE ME GROW

Image
Fun Fact: I was just going through my gallery and I found the picture for my cover photo. I wrote everything just by looking at the picture. I hope you enjoy this one. Experience is the best teacher they say. Indeed it is. There have been a lot of stuff I've been through which has contributed to who I am today but the first experience that came to mind when I wrote the topic was my work experience. My first job. I could write a whole book out from that job. It taught me a lot. I started to work just when I completed senior high school. Working after school wasn't part of the plans at all. I had this mindset of sleeping through out the rest of the days because I had spent three years of waking up early to be at school, work my brains out to pass series of examinations, extracurricular activities and abiding by some ridiculous regulations plus rules. I was so worn out that all I had in mind was to sleep and never wake up. I woke up the next monday after I graduated fro

HOW TO FORGIVE YOURSELF FROM YOUR PAST MISTAKES

Image
How to Forgive Yourself From Your Mistakes Hey guyssss, welcome to my worlddddd! Listen up! Today it gets real. We are talking about overcoming our mistakes and forgiving ourselves. It’s something that’s been on my heart ever since I read the book You Are A Bad Ass by Jen Sincero. In the book, she states, “you are better than your worst mistake.” And after reading this, it became apparent to me that most of us value ourselves at the level of our worst mistake opposed to leading a life in celebration of our most significant accomplishments. Well, that stops today my friend. MY GUT WRENCHING MISTAKE We all have regrets, let’s be honest both big and small. But chances are there are one or two mistakes that you’ve previously made that are still plaguing you. A mistake that is holding on to you so freaking tight you feel like you are still suffocating under something that happened years ago. We all have that thought that pops into our head on our worst day whose sole purpose i

THIS IS HOW YOU ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP ACCORDING TO YOUR BIRTH ORDER

Image
There is just no doubt that the order in which you were born in your family relative to your siblings is going to affect your personality in a myriad of ways. It’s just because there are certain conditions, responsibilities, and expectations that are set on you depending on where you fall in the line of siblings. That’s why it can be fairly easy to predict how you would act in a relationship depending purely on your birth order. Whether you’re the eldest, the middle child, the youngest, or the only child, you are going to have certain characteristics and traits in your personality that you will carry with you into your relationships. And these traits are going to be distinct only to you. However, it is still important to note that all people are different and just because two people happen to be the youngest siblings in their respective families doesn’t mean that they’re automatically going to have the same personalities. It’s just that their position in the family setting is like

A LETTER TO MY FUTURE SELF

Image
Dear Future Me (37 years old), How’s life? I hope you are in good shape. Though I am a big glutton as of this moment – eating out the stress from all the shits of this life – I am still hoping that you are in a good condition: healthy, happy, and financially stable. The least thing I could imagine you right now (knock on wood) is for you to be in bed, chained with all the apparatuses in this world to artificially sustain life. Have you met Denzel Washington yet? Were you able to travel to Ireland with Lyn to meet Colin Morgan? Gosh, I'm shaking. Were you able to spend your honey moon in the Maldives? Was it as adventurously awesome and breathtaking as the way they projected it on those pictures and videos you have been repeatedly watching? How was your interview on the Delay Show with Deloris Frimpong Manso. I hope she didn't drain you that much. (Hahahaha) Have you fully-documented all the sunrise and sunsets you’ve seen? How’s the blog? Did it gain more viewership, o

A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET

Image
There has been a lot of defining moments in my life. To be brutally honest, a lot of those moments I would have rather not happened. But they have played a huge part in who I am today, and I strongly believe that despite how hard they may have been, everything does happen for a reason. I've been through some shit. 99% of that shit I do not and will not ever (well, we'll see) post online, as it is private and too difficult to share so openly. I felt like this about what I am going to talk about today for a good portion of time. 2 years ago on August 16, I was denied of entering a university I have applied for. I feel shaky and tingly and sad writing that. I can talk pretty candidly about a lot of hard things in my life, to my friends or family. However, whenever I try to talk about this, or write about it in this case, I get choked up. It's strange. I only really realise how much that day actually affected me when I think about it for long enough. I guess that is beca

5 THINGS I WOULD BRING TO A DESERTED ISLAND

Image
My dream come true.  Time alone. To live in peace, to read a book without interruption, to enjoy a snack out of hiding. So I would be lying if I said there weren’t times I just got lost. Maybe on the way home. Maybe in a store. And sometimes – sometimes, I’d like to get lost on a deserted island far, far away from the hustle, bustle, and most people's demands of every day life. Of course, I love the life I live. Don’t get me wrong. But it can be, well, overwhelming at times.  I'm needed all the time.  There are no breaks, especially as a freelancer. So to say I need a break is an understatement. So follow me on this dream for a moment, would you? If I could take a little vacation to a deserted island where NO ONE could bother me and there were no to-do lists, I’d pack a few necessities. Since I’m just going to assume there are no demands, no requirements of me to figure out how to stay alive (because, let’s face it, that’s another responsibility and we’re avoiding

7 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU ARE HAVING A BAD DAY

Image
Hi guysss, welcome! Let's read something healthy today. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.... From time to time we all have bad days and that is ok. I have compiled some ways to help you when you are having a bad day. These have proven to be successful for me so it is not just empty words. 1. Breathing exercises. A way to help destress is to try out the breathing exercises and making sure you use deep breathes and use your lungs properly. Doing these exercises helps slow down your breathing and can be really therapeutic to just stop and focus on your breathing. Youtube is a brilliant source of visual aids to run through the step-to-step guide to doing deep breathing. 2. Meditation. Meditation is so useful to help calm you down, give you something to think about other than the negative feelings that you hold. It helps distract you and give you something to focus on that can help make you feel calmer and relaxed. 3. Hot bath. There is something about having a hot

TOP 5 ADVICES I HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN. (THE BEST)

Image
Advices are one of my tools for motivation. Whenever someone spends his or her precious time to advice me, I do my best to listen because giving an advice isn't easy. All my life, I have received tons of advices that I can't remember and so the ones I'm sharing are the ones I remember and somehow held on to. Without further ado, here are my top 5 advices I have ever been given. 5. Opportunities abound everywhere, You only need to see them. - Tough Call Tough Call is a novel which was given to us in high School. My school has this extracurricular program called Functional literature. All students are given a novel to read and later get tested to prove whether the book was read or not. In summary and if my memory serves me right, the book was about how a young girl worked hard to be successful despite her enormous challenges. I got this advice from the book and I held on to it since then. For real, there are a lot of opportunities around us and until we open our eyes

INTRODUCING, THE LOML( LOVE OF MY LIFE). 💟💎🔐

Image
It all started at a camp meeting in presec Legon Accra. I mean that is the day I accepted him. This post is about the one and only person in my life who has been there for me since forever. Welcome dearieess. Don't leave now, read further and get to know someone extraordinary in my life.  Just at 22 and I tell you if my life was to be transformed into a TV show, we would have been in Season 91 episode 13(2 hours per episode). It's a lot and it is still playing. In every episode of this my tv show, there is a major key Character that has been there since day one and I know he would be in the season finale and even after. He means the world to me. HE IS MY EVERYTHING! His name is Jesus Christ. Back to my introduction, I accepted him at a camp meeting I attended and I'm stuck with him till now despite my defects and imperfections. You see, one of the utmost benefits I'm obliged to is his unending love for me. He is always there. Even when I turn my back on him, realis

HOW TO BECOME A BETTER VERSION OF YOURSELF

Image
Before I started working on myself, I will admit that I was the worst. I wasn't always a good friend. I wasn't always that one person that someone can run to. In my defense, I didn't care about myself or love myself enough! I was always that "unbothered friend" because I had so much going on within that I didn't have the time to be a good friend. I couldn't even be a good sister. As time went by, it became so draining and depressing to not even care. It was time for me to practice self-care and become a better version of myself. The things I practiced daily worked! Fast forward to the present... Lately, I've been having this battle on trying to become a better version of myself. Here's why: I noticed that I start to let my fears and doubts get the best of me. By allowing that to happen, I became stuck in a huge rut where I no longer wanted to do the things that I've been itching to do. I started to develop a lot of nasty habits tha

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS

Image
Over and over again, people tell me I shouldn’t expect too much.  Whether it’s about relationships, what I want to do with my life or something as simple as getting a good grade on a test.  And I think that’s really, really stupid.  I’m an inherently optimistic person, and I can think of so many reasons why I shouldn’t lower my expectations. YOU’RE LETTING OTHER PEOPLE CONTROL YOUR LIFE When you listen to people who are trying to convince you to minimize your hopes, you are letting those people make decisions for you.  One of the things I have always stood by is doing what you think is best for you.  It may sound cheesy and cause some eye-rolling, but ultimately, I believe it’s what has made me as happy as I am.  Pessimism is pointless to me, and unlike a lot of negative people, I refuse to let it run my life.  If you want to achieve and experience all you can, don’t let negative people influence you. THERE’S POTENTIAL YOU COULD GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT I’m admitting that I’m

15 PET PEEVES OF MINE WHICH ARE UTTERLY RELATABLE

Image
Hello guys. Welcome to my worlddddd. I don't know why but I'm extremely excited today. Okay so let's roll. To some of us who don't understand what a pet peeve is; It is something that a particular person finds especially annoying(According to Google's dictionary). Pet peeves often get a negative connotation.  When you’re identifying pet peeves, you’re pretty much making a list of all the things that annoy you.  But, listing off all of your pet peeves can really help you get out any anger or frustration you have without being directly harmful or mean to anyone.  Just a disclaimer, some of these may not be annoying to you, and they may seem petty, but we all have things that make us just the slightest bit angry.  So, without further ado, here is a list of my 16 pet peeves (in no specific order). 1. Rude food vendors - I just don't understand them. It is my money that add up to make your salary. The least you can do is to be nice. 2. Texting first and exp

WHAT PICKS ME UP WHEN LIFE GETS TOUGH

Image
Hardships, Tribulations, Trials and failures are inevitable so far as we are on planet earth. But the good news is we choose to let it get to us or fight it. Welcome to my worlddddd dearies. Let's sail through Inspiration! I have been hit so many times at every stage of my life and I'm actually amazed I'm still alive. I believe God is the whole source for my survival regardless of the techniques I use to get right back on my feet. First of all when things don't go on well and all hope is gone, I coil and shield myself from everyone and everything(Food is not part please). I mostly find peace in being alone and that's when I can reflect on my life. I proceed with my trust in time. My past experiences has taught me that time is the main guyyy. Time heals broken hearts. Time tells if you will get into a relationship with your bestfriend or not. Time tells if you would be friends with your crush or not. Time tells if all the sacrifices were worth it or not. Time!

5 APPS I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT

Image
I don't know why I had a hard time choosing the top 5, maybe because I have a lot of Apps I love and it's difficult to leave some aside. Anyways. Welcome to my worlddddd. FIVE APPS I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT. Pretty Interesting. Buckle up and let's read together. YOUTUBE I seriously love this app. I mean everything is literally on here. Songs, movie trailers, top niches, DIY videos and a whole lot. I like the fact that individuals can create contents by themselves on their channels which can gradually earn them money. Talking about channels, do you know that I started my channel in 2017? Oh yess. It's pretty amazing and I'm really doing well. Don't try to go and find me on the app though, because it's in my head. I planned and executed the channel in my head. (You are allowed to laugh. I'm even laughing myself). Well, I enjoy entertaining and educating myself on YOUTUBE. PINTEREST Oh and there is Pinterest. Roberta Q introduced me to pint

MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT

Image
An achievement. The spelling even says it all. Well. People normally set goals or targets and it's likely they might fail or not. I don't think accomplishing something is only when you achieve the ultimate goal but rather just bringing up the idea and going for it is a win-win for me. Yeahhh. "ALL MEN WHO HAVE ACHIEVED GREAT THINGS HAVE BEEN GREAT DREAMERS" -Orison Swett Marden. My greatest achievement so far would be when I participated in last year's Miss Ghana beauty pageant. And like Orison said, I started by dreaming. I can still remember myself in the bathroom imagining boarding a car from Tema to Accra, auditioning and rejoicing because I was picked by the Judges. All this imagination in the bathroom. Funny huh? Ikr. I literally put my Job on the line with my decision to audition for the pageantry and that was one of the most difficult decisions I had to make in my entire life. Thanks to the one friend I confided in who urged me on. (No need to

A LETTER TO MY TEENAGE SELF

Image
Hello Little me, I have really missed you so much. Yeaaaahhh. I'm writing to you from the Future. Pretty cool, huh? Adulthood hasn't been easy at all. There's a lot of stress, difficulties in decision making and a total exhaustion in surviving a whole Day. I'm not yet the Lady we all agreed you would become. I fell off the rails but I'm trying to get back on track. There's too much pressure in this world of mine, aswear. Priorities have changed and it's because of the passage from you to me. Getting older has made me to experience changes in my physical appearance, the things that I value, the morals I uphold, and the aspect of life I consider important. Hence, enabling me make some adjustments. I wish I could dispense some advice and wisdom but I'm YOU and I know you wouldn't heed it. There's a whole lot going on right now! Did I ever mention depression to you? My girl, it is real yhh. There are times when I don't even want to wake up

MY COVID19 AND LOCKDOWN EXPERIENCES

Image
CORONAVIRUS. 2020. Hmmmm. Tell me a great pandemic would have invaded my country in 2020 and I would have insisted you were crazy. I remember how people were really looking forward to 2020 with a lot of hope and positivity and of course I wasn't exempted. I heard about coronavirus in December 2019, I believed it wouldn't come to Ghana because Ebola couldn't set its crooked legs here and it seems I was wrong after all. There was fear and panic all over after confirming our first case, especially when some bloggers started spreading fake news on social media.   We had just started counting the number of cases when orders were given that social gatherings and religious activities were banned plus schools and the borders were to be closed. I think these measures made people to start taking the virus seriously. I was disappointed because I had barely started going for classes and I was really looking forward to it. The closing of schools made most universities venture into
